Following the conclusion of the West Bengal Assembly elections, West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee has categorically dismissed various exit polls predicting a lead for the BJP.
Terming these forecasts as a "political conspiracy" designed to demoralize grassroots workers, the Trinamool Congress (TMC) supremo asserted that her party is on track to secure over 226 seats. She reminded supporters that similar biased predictions were made in the 2016 and 2021 elections, which ultimately proved to be incorrect.
Expressing concerns over potential EVM tampering, Banerjee instructed party activists to maintain a 24-hour vigil at counting centers until the official results are announced on May 4. In a video message, she emphasized the importance of monitoring the movement of voting machines from strongrooms to counting halls. Despite several surveys favoring the BJP, the CM remains confident in the "Ma, Mati, Manush" mandate, citing the record-breaking voter turnout as a positive sign. She urged her party members to remain united and vigilant, dismissing the exit poll narratives as media-driven propaganda orchestrated by the opposition.
