Israel is not bound by the newly announced US-Iran peace agreement, Israeli National Security Minister Itamar Ben-Gvir declared on Monday (June 15). Criticizing the deal, the hardline minister asserted that Israel is not a party to the accord, which he claims fails to guarantee the country's security. He urged the military to press ahead with its operations until Hezbollah is fully dismantled and

The statement follows announcements early Monday morning by Pakistani Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and US President Donald Trump, confirming that Washington and Tehran have reached an agreement to end hostilities. The Israeli government has yet to issue an official response regarding the diplomatic breakthrough.

Reiterating a hardline stance on the Lebanese front, Ben-Gvir warned that any drone or missile launched from Lebanon into Israeli territory would trigger immediate retaliatory strikes on Beirut's Dahiyeh district.

According to Pakistani Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif's post on the social media platform X (formerly Twitter), the agreement mandates an immediate and permanent cessation of military operations across all fronts. Mediators are scheduled to hold several pre-implementation meetings this week to finalize technical details before the official signing ceremony, which is set to take place in Switzerland on Friday (June 19). Sharif also extended his gratitude to Qatar for its crucial role in facilitating the negotiations.
