A series of leaked internal military documents and European intelligence sources have revealed that China secretly provided specialized military training to Russian armed forces last year.

According to exclusive reporting by Reuters, the classified operational framework was directly approved by Russian Defense Minister Andrei Belousov. At least four top-ranking generals from both Moscow and Beijing were actively involved in coordinating the program, highlighting the expanding strategic partnership between the two superpowers amid the ongoing conflict in Ukraine.

Classified Russian government decrees from August 2025 indicate that a delegation from the Russian Armed Forces traveled to People’s Liberation Army (PLA) installations in China for the training. The highly sensitive three-week session took place last November at a secure military facility in Beijing, focusing extensively on radiological, chemical, and biological warfare defense tactics. Leaked photographs within the files showed Chinese instructors briefing Russian soldiers using nuclear reactor models and demonstrating chemical reconnaissance and contamination-containment protocols.

While Beijing's Foreign Ministry has fiercely rejected the allegations as "completely baseless," reiterating its neutral stance and self-proclaimed role as a peace mediator in the Ukraine conflict, European defense officials suggest otherwise. Previous intelligence reports indicate that roughly 200 Russian military personnel underwent training in China last November, with several later deployed to the frontlines in Ukraine. The Kremlin and Russia's Ministry of Defense have chosen not to issue any official comments regarding the sensitive investigation.
