England captain Harry Kane, best known for his goal-scoring exploits on the football pitch, has found himself in the spotlight for a different sport—golf. The striker has described playing a round of golf with U.S. President Donald Trump as a "surreal" experience.

Speaking at a press conference on Saturday ahead of England's FIFA World Cup quarter-final against Norway, Kane revealed that he accepted Trump's invitation to play golf around 18 months ago while visiting Palm Beach, Florida.

"I actually played pretty well," Kane said. "While I was in Palm Beach, the President invited me to play golf. When the President of the country invites you, it's obviously a very special experience."

The 32-year-old striker said meeting Trump and sharing a round of golf with him was unlike anything he had experienced before.

"Meeting him and playing golf with him was surreal," Kane added. "To be fair, he's a very good golfer. I hope that when I reach his age, I can play as well as he does. I'm grateful to him for the invitation."

Trump had earlier praised Kane on his social media platform, Truth Social, following England's dramatic 3-2 victory over Mexico in the World Cup Round of 16, calling him "a fantastic player."

Speaking to reporters the following day, Trump confirmed that he had played golf with the England captain.

"Kane is an incredible footballer," Trump said. "I've played golf with him. He's a very good golfer and a terrific person as well."

Kane will now turn his focus back to football as he prepares to lead England against Norway in the World Cup quarter-finals, with his unexpected golfing encounter with the U.S. President becoming a fresh talking point ahead of the crucial clash.
