Pakistan has strongly condemned the reported Houthi attack on a civilian power facility in Madinah that supplies electricity to Al-Masjid an-Nabawi (the Prophet’s Mosque), describing the incident as a serious provocation and a major threat to regional peace and security.
In a statement, Pakistan's Foreign Ministry spokesperson Sajjad Haider Khan said the attack targeted the Taibah Electricity Distribution Center in Madinah on September 29. The facility is responsible for supplying electricity to Al-Masjid an-Nabawi.
He described the attack on civilian infrastructure as "highly condemnable" and stressed that the sanctity of Islam’s two holy mosques, as well as the safety of worshippers and pilgrims, must be respected under all circumstances.
Khan called for an immediate and unconditional end to what he described as "reckless acts," warning that such actions pose a serious threat to regional peace and security.
The statement also reaffirmed Pakistan’s unwavering solidarity with Saudi Arabia and expressed its full support for the Kingdom’s sovereignty, territorial integrity, and national security.
Pakistan further pledged to stand firmly with Saudi Arabia in its efforts to safeguard the Two Holy Mosques, protect its citizens, and ensure the safety of millions of pilgrims. The Foreign Ministry added that Pakistan would continue to support initiatives aimed at promoting lasting peace and stability across the region.
