MUNA West Zone President and Members Attend Islamic Shura Council’s 30th Anniversary Celebration

The Islamic Shura Council of Southern California marked a major milestone with the celebration of its 30th anniversary at a grand banquet held at the Islamic Society of Orange County. The event, themed “Rooted in Legacy, Rising in Unity,” honored three decades of the Council’s dedicated efforts to unite Muslim mosques and organizations and to amplify Muslim voices across Southern California.

Among the attendees were MUNA West Zone President Ashraf Hossain Akbor and respected members of the MUNA West Zone.

The evening featured a lineup of distinguished speakers, including Imam Siraj Wahhaj, Imam of Masjid At-Taqwa in New York; Dr. Jonathan Brown, Professor at Georgetown University; and Laila Al-Arian, Emmy and Peabody Award-winning investigative journalist.

Guests were treated to moving stories, reflections on the Shura Council’s impactful journey, and a buffet dinner celebrating the diversity of the Southern California Muslim community.
