Pakistan has officially announced the organization of its first-ever International Qira’at (Qur’an Recitation) Competition, with a special appearance by one of the Imams of the Holy Kaaba as the chief guest.

According to a report published by Geo News on Friday, the competition will be held under the supervision of Pakistan’s Ministry of Religious Affairs. The event is scheduled to take place in the capital city of Islamabad from November 24 to 29.

As per the report, participants from 57 countries are expected to take part in the prestigious recitation contest. Preparations for the event are already underway under the guidance of the Ministry.

The biggest highlight of the competition will be the presence of an Imam from Masjid al-Haram in Makkah at the award distribution ceremony. However, the name of the Imam has not yet been disclosed.

In addition, the presence of the Secretary-General of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) at the event has also been confirmed, further raising the profile of this international gathering.

This marks a significant milestone for Pakistan as it steps onto the global stage with a major religious and cultural event celebrating the art of Qur’anic recitation.
