New Shades Installed in Masjid-e-Nabawi to Ensure Worshipers' Comfort

The General Presidency for the Affairs of the Prophet’s Mosque has completed installation of new shading systems across the rooftop prayer areas of Masjid an-Nabawi. To improve comfort during daylight prayers, particularly as temperatures rise during summer months.

The new shades feature advanced fabric technology designed to reduce heat absorption while maintaining airflow across the expansive rooftop spaces.

The coverage allows worshipers to perform prayers in shaded areas during peak sunlight hours, the roof is usually crowded during Friday Prayer (Jummah).

Authorities have focused on enhancing visitor experience through multiple initiatives, including upgraded cooling systems, expanded prayer areas, and improved accessibility features.

The shading project represents the latest in these comfort-oriented improvements at the mosque that hosts millions of visitors annually.
