Saudia Airlines has launched free high-speed WiFi service for Hajj and Umrah pilgrims, offering internet speeds of 300 MBPS during flights.

The inaugural service was successfully tested on flight SV1044, where Saudi ministers streamed live Saudi Pro League matches and conducted seamless video call interviews at 35,000 feet.

The national carrier currently operates the service on 20 aircrafts primarily serving the Riyadh to Jeddah route, with plans to expand to international flights carrying pilgrims.

During the demonstration flight, government officials verified the service’s reliability by streaming high-definition live sports and maintaining uninterrupted video conferences.

The successful test confirms pilgrims will enjoy robust internet access throughout their flights to and from Saudi Arabia.

Saudia officials confirmed planned upgrades could boost WiFi speeds to 800 MBPS in coming phases.

The service will be provided free of charge.
