After the performance of Salat al-Istisqa, the prayer for rain, heavy rain suddenly poured down over Makkah, darkening the sky.

On Saturday, 15 November, rain began to fall in Makkah after the Fajr prayer. Earlier, on 13 November (22 Jumada al-Awwal 1447 AH), a large congregational Salat al-Istisqa was held at Masjid al-Haram in the holy city of Makkah, following the instructions of King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud.

The prayer was led by Shaykh Yasser Ad-Dosari, Imam of the Kaaba and the appointed khatib for the event. He offered dua for the Muslim Ummah and called for repentance (tawbah) and seeking forgiveness (istighfar).

According to the official statement, Muslims across the kingdom were invited to participate in the prayer, seeking peace and mercy from Allah. Right after the prayer concluded, rain began falling in Makkah. Many regarded this as a sign of Allah’s mercy.

King Salman urged the Muslim Ummah to engage in tawbah (repentance), istighfar (seeking forgiveness), charity, voluntary prayers, and remembrance of Allah, as these actions lead to the acceptance of worship.

A video from Inside the Haramain shows thousands of worshippers performing tawaf around the Kaaba while heavy rain pours down. The sky rumbled, and worshippers continued circling the Kaaba joyfully in the rain as water flowed from the Mizab al-Rahmah (the spout of mercy).

Meanwhile, Salat al-Istisqa was also held at Al-Masjid an-Nabawi in the holy city of Madinah, led by Shaykh Ahmad Huzaifi, one of the honorable Imams of the Prophet’s Mosque.
