Dr. Shafiqur Rahman, the Ameer of Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami, has strongly criticized political forces that promote national division, stating that they can never truly be friends of the country.
Speaking as the chief guest at a massive rally at Sirajganj Islamia Government College grounds on Saturday (January 24), he emphasized the need for a unified nation.
Justice and Equality for All During his speech, the Jamaat chief pledged to establish a society where the rule of law applies equally to everyone, regardless of religion, gender, or social status. "Justice will be the same for all," he remarked. "A common citizen and the President of the country must face the same legal consequences for the same offense. There will be no special treatment for anyone."
A Call for Political Decency As the 13th National Parliamentary Election approaches, Dr. Rahman urged his party members to maintain political decorum. He advised activists not to respond to insults with insults. "Others may criticize or abuse us based on their tastes, but please do not retaliate in kind. If we must criticize, let it be logical and respectful," he added. The rally, presided over by District Ameer Maulana Shahinur Alam, featured candidates from all six parliamentary constituencies in Sirajganj.
