Tarique Rahman Reaches Chattogram After Two Decades to Spearhead BNP’s Election Campaign

In a major political move ahead of the 13th National Parliamentary Election, BNP Chairman Tarique Rahman arrived in Chattogram on Saturday evening (January 24).

Departing from his Gulshan residence in the late afternoon, he landed at Shah Amanat International Airport at 7:15 PM via a Biman Bangladesh Airlines flight. This visit marks his first return to the port city in over 20 years, having last visited in 2005. His arrival has sparked immense enthusiasm among grassroots activists, who view this trip as a defining moment for the party’s electoral prospects.

The BNP Chairman is set to lead a marathon campaign starting tomorrow, Sunday (January 25). He will first address a massive rally at the historic Polo Ground at 11:30 AM, where a turnout of several hundred thousand is expected. Following the assembly, Tarique Rahman will embark on a whirlwind tour back to Dhaka, stopping to address public meetings in Feni at 4:00 PM, Chouddagram at 5:30 PM, and Suagazi at 7:00 PM. His hectic schedule continues with a 7:30 PM rally in Daudkandi and a final midnight gathering at Kanchpur in Narayanganj before he returns to his capital residence late at night.
