Addressing a massive election rally at Feni Government College ground, BNP Chairman Tarique Rahman called upon his party members and supporters to remain highly vigilant on election day to protect their right to vote.
During his speech this Sunday (January 25), he urged voters to arrive at polling stations early in the morning and ensure their ballots are cast before returning home. Rahman warned that no conspiracy should be allowed to snatch away the people's mandate, noting that after 15 years of suppressed voting rights, the recent mass uprising has finally provided an opportunity to reshape the nation’s future.
Highlighting his developmental vision for the region, Tarique Rahman promised that if the BNP forms the government, an Export Processing Zone (EPZ) and a full-fledged medical college will be established in Feni to create local employment. He emphasized the need to curb corruption and recover laundered money, stating that a victory for the 'Sheaf of Paddy' (Dhaner Sheerh) in the upcoming February 12 polls is essential to upholding the ideals of the late President Ziaur Rahman. As Feni is the constituency of Begum Khaleda Zia, he reminded the local residents of their significant responsibility in the upcoming election.
Focusing on social welfare, the BNP Chairman announced plans to introduce 'Family Cards' for women and 'Farmer Cards' for agriculturists. He explained that while the Family Card might not cover an entire month's expenses, it would provide crucial support for at least a week, easing the burden on ordinary citizens. He urged his party to focus on development and the healthcare sector rather than being preoccupied with political opponents. Rahman concluded by reaffirming his commitment to completing the unfinished development projects initiated by Ziaur Rahman and Khaleda Zia once the party assumes power.
