Trump at National Security Council Meeting in West Wing

President Donald Trump is now in the West Wing, as indicated by the Marine standing outside the door, the BBC’s Bernd Debusmann Jr reports.

“The Marine is only there when Trump is in the building,” he adds. “The National Security Council meeting was scheduled to meet at this time.”

The president calls an emergency meeting in the Situation Room in a special crisis. The military's vigilant Marines are on guard only when the president is present.

The White House confirmed that the Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, General Dan Kaine, and Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth were present in the Situation Room.

However, the reporter could not confirm whether the Security Council meeting in the West Wing was an impromptu or a pre-planned meeting.
