U.S. President Donald Trump has renewed his call for Hamas to respond to his 20‑point peace plan for Gaza, saying the group must announce its decision by 6:00 p.m. on Sunday, Al Jazeera reported.

Trump first unveiled the plan at a joint news conference after a closed meeting with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu at the White House on Monday, September 29. The proposal — framed as a pathway to an immediate ceasefire — stipulates that if Hamas accepts a truce, all Israeli hostages, living and dead, should be released within 72 hours, paving the way for a lasting ceasefire in Gaza.

Under the plan, Hamas would relinquish control of Gaza and an interim international body called “The Board of Peace” would administer the territory. Trump said Israeli and Arab leaders had accepted the proposal and that he was awaiting Hamas’s response.

On Friday, October 3, Trump again urged a prompt reply and warned of severe consequences if Hamas failed to agree. Posting on Truth Social, he wrote that failure to reach a deal would unleash “hell” on Hamas, and he cautioned that Hamas fighters were encircled and could be quickly eliminated if ordered. He also urged civilians in potentially affected areas of Gaza to move to safer zones and said aid recipients should be properly cared for.

Hamas political bureau member Mohammad Nazal al‑Jazira said the group would announce its position soon and stressed that, as representatives of the resistance, Hamas has the right to respond in a way that protects the interests of the Palestinian people and would not be rushed by time constraints.
