2 Killed, 8 Seriously Injured in Shooting at Brown University

Two students have reportedly been killed and eight people critically injured in a shooting at Brown University in the eastern US state of Rhode Island. Police are searching for the suspect.

The incident took place at the prestigious Ivy League school on Saturday evening.

The mayor of Providence and other sources confirmed that two students were dead and nine people were injured, eight of whom were in critical but stable condition.

The school says final exams were taking place in the building where the shooting happened and there were students there at the time.

Authorities described the suspect as a male dressed in black.

The university's website says it has about 10,000 students, including about 2,700 international students from 129 countries.

The university has closed the campus and is calling on students and staff in the area to lock their doors and stay indoors.
