Member states of the Board of Peace are set to announce pledges exceeding $5 billion for reconstruction and humanitarian efforts in Gaza at an upcoming meeting on Thursday, U.S. President Donald Trump has said.

In a post on his social media platform Truth Social on Sunday, Trump stated that member countries have also committed to deploying thousands of personnel to a United Nations-authorized stabilization force and local police units in the Palestinian enclave.

Trump said the pledges will be formally announced at the Board’s first official meeting in Washington next Thursday. Representatives from more than 20 countries, including several heads of state, are expected to attend.

In his post, the U.S. president described the Board of Peace as an organization that would become “the most important international body in history.”

He also said it was an honor to serve as chairman of the Board of Peace. Trump is currently serving as the organization’s chairman. However, he did not provide details on which specific member states would contribute funds for Gaza’s reconstruction.

Regional powers such as TurkeyEgyptSaudi ArabiaQatar, and Israel, along with emerging nations like Indonesia, have joined the Board. However, global superpowers and traditional Western allies of the United States have taken a comparatively cautious stance.
