US Will Stop Iran from Acquiring Nuclear Weapons ‘By Any Means,’ Warns Energy Secretary

US Secretary of Energy Chris Wright on Wednesday warned that the United States will prevent Iran from acquiring nuclear weapons “by any means.”

Speaking to journalists on the sidelines of an International Energy Agency meeting in Paris, Wright said, “They were very clear about what they would do with nuclear weapons. This is completely unacceptable.”

He added, “Therefore, by any means, we will halt Iran’s advance toward acquiring nuclear weapons and deter them from doing so.”

The comments came after US and Iranian officials met in Geneva on Tuesday to discuss measures aimed at controlling Tehran’s nuclear program while avoiding potential US military intervention.

Following the talks, Iran indicated that it had agreed on “guiding principles” for a possible deal to prevent conflict.

However, US Vice President J.D. Vance stated that Tehran has not yet fully complied with all of Washington’s “red lines.”
