Concerns regarding U.S. President Donald Trump's age and mental fitness are mounting among American citizens.
According to a recent Reuters/Ipsos poll, 61% of Americans believe the 79-year-old president has become "erratic as he ages." Notably, this sentiment is shared by 30% of Republican supporters, signaling a growing unease within his own party.
The data reveals a sharp decline in public confidence; only 45% of respondents now describe Trump as "mentally sharp," down from 54% in September 2023.
Similarly, a Pew Research Center survey shows that confidence in his physical fitness has dropped to 28% from 35%. Furthermore, a Washington Post-ABC News poll found that 56% of Americans hold negative views regarding his mental acuity. Recent gaffes, such as confusing international locations and appearing fatigued in public, have intensified the debate over whether the oldest president in U.S. history remains capable of fulfilling his duties.
