The United States has authorized the departure of non-essential government personnel and their families from Israel amid heightening fears of a potential military strike against Iran. According to The Guardian, the State Department has urged American citizens to consider leaving the country while commercial flights are still operational and has warned against any new travel to Israel.

This directive follows the stalemate in Geneva, where the third round of indirect nuclear talks between Washington and Tehran concluded without a breakthrough. US Ambassador to Israel, Mike Huckabee, sent an urgent email to embassy staff, advising them to secure flight tickets and exit the country as swiftly as possible.

While diplomatic efforts continue with Omani Foreign Minister Badr Al-Busaidi visiting Washington to de-escalate the situation, the core dispute over uranium enrichment remains unresolved. As a precautionary measure and show of strength, the US aircraft carrier USS Gerald R. Ford arrived off the coast of Israel on Friday. Technical-level discussions are expected to resume next week in Vienna under the supervision of the IAEA.
