U.S. President Donald Trump has lost domestic popularity following military strikes in Iran, with a majority of Americans reportedly opposing the action. A recent survey by Reuters and Ipsos shows that three out of four Americans disapprove of the strikes.

The poll, conducted nationwide among 1,282 American adults, found that 43% of respondents oppose U.S. military actions in Iran, while 27% support the strikes. Another 29% remained neutral or did not express an opinion.

The survey also revealed that nine out of ten Americans have heard little or nothing about the Iran strikes.

Reuters reports that the joint U.S.-Israel operation entered its second day when Trump announced that 48 Iranian leaders had been killed. Last June, the two countries had conducted a similar joint strike in Iran.

Trump stated that U.S. forces are systematically sinking Iranian naval warships, with at least nine already destroyed and the remaining vessels expected to be neutralized in sequence.

While U.S. officials initially reported no American casualties on the first day of conflict, on Sunday, three U.S. soldiers were confirmed dead and five seriously injured. The U.S. Central Command stated that several soldiers were hurt by bomb fragments, though details regarding the location or exact number of injuries were not disclosed.

Anonymous U.S. officials told Reuters that the fatalities occurred at a base in Kuwait.

Despite military assertions, the Reuters-Ipsos survey reflects limited public support for the strikes within the United States.
