In a much-needed relief for Bangladeshi applicants waiting for family-based green cards in the United States, the August 2026 visa bulletin has brought remarkable progress. The update highlights a substantial leap in the F2A category for family-sponsored immigrant visas, which primarily covers spouses and unmarried children under the age of 21 of lawful permanent residents.
According to the Department of State's August visa bulletin, the Final Action Date for the F2A category has advanced significantly from January 1, 2025, to July 22, 2026. This means the cut-off date has jumped by more than a year and a half within a single month, a positive shift that applies directly to eligible Bangladeshi applicants as well.
The Department of State notes that these final action dates determine when immigrant visas may be issued to applicants based on their priority dates. The National Visa Center (NVC) has reiterated that for numerically limited family-sponsored categories, an applicant's priority date must be current or active for interview scheduling.
