Muslims across the United States celebrated Eid-ul-Fitr today with a collective prayer for global peace and the end of ongoing conflicts.
This year’s celebration marked a historic milestone as New York City’s first Muslim Mayor, Zohran Mamdani, joined the congregation at the Jamaica Muslim Center.
More than 5,500 Eid prayers were organized by major organizations like CAIR and ICNA in open fields, convention centers, and mosques nationwide. Despite the underlying tensions of the regional war in the Middle East, the spirit of Eid remained high. In New York, Mayor Mamdani, alongside prominent U.S. lawmakers, exchanged greetings with the vibrant Bangladeshi-American community. From Ozone Park and Brooklyn to Los Angeles' Little Bangladesh, thousands of expatriates gathered in traditional attire, embodying unity and resilience. The day was marked by President Trump’s official greetings and a shared hope for a future free from conflict.
