Chris Murphy, a Democratic senator, has strongly criticized Donald Trump over the ongoing conflict involving Iran, accusing him of losing control amid escalating global instability.

Murphy stated that the current situation in the Middle East and beyond reflects a breakdown in leadership, claiming that Trump is now in “panic mode.” He has been leading criticism of the United States–Israel military campaign against Iran, which has been ongoing for the past four weeks.

As a member of the Senate Foreign Relations Committee, Murphy argued that Trump’s inability to manage the war has contributed to rising tensions and uncertainty. He also warned that concern is growing within U.S. political circles about the direction and potential consequences of the conflict.

Murphy highlighted the economic impact of the war, noting that disruptions have already affected global energy markets. According to him, rising oil prices are putting direct pressure on the U.S. economy and slowing overall economic growth.

Tensions escalated further after Iran reportedly moved to close the Strait of Hormuz, a critical global energy supply route. In response, Trump issued a warning that if the passage is not reopened, Iranian power plants could be targeted.

Murphy emphasized that the conflict is no longer confined to the Middle East, warning that its effects are spreading to the global economy and domestic conditions within the United States.
