Tensions in the Middle East have flared up once again as US President Donald Trump accuses Iran of violating their agreement by charging fees from tankers in the Strait of Hormuz.

In a post on Truth Social this Friday (April 10, 2026), President Trump claimed Iran is doing a "very bad job" by imposing unauthorized fees on oil vessels, calling the move "dishonorable." He demanded an immediate halt to these practices, stating they were never part of the negotiated deal. Simultaneously, Iran's Supreme Leader Mojtaba Khamenei announced that Tehran plans to take the management of the Strait to a "new level," though details remain vague.

The situation is further complicated by Israel's continued bombardment of Lebanon, despite ceasefire terms. According to Lebanon's Health Ministry, 303 people were killed in Israeli strikes yesterday alone.

These developments highlight the extreme fragility of the current ceasefire, with all parties accusing each other of breaching the peace accord.
