While critical negotiations between the United States and Iran were underway in Islamabad, President Donald Trump was reportedly spotted attending a UFC fight in Miami. According to the BBC, the President was accompanied by family members and Secretary of State Marco Rubio during the event.

Despite his attendance at the sporting event, Vice President JD Vance confirmed that he remained in constant communication with the President throughout the 21-hour marathon session in Pakistan. "I can't count how many times we spoke—perhaps six, maybe a dozen times," Vance stated, emphasizing that the negotiating team maintained continuous contact with the administration.

The diplomatic mission concluded without a formal agreement. Following the failure of the talks, the US delegation departed Islamabad early Sunday morning. Shortly thereafter, the Iranian delegation, led by Parliament Speaker Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf and Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi, also left for Tehran, as reported by the Mehr News Agency.

Before his departure on Air Force Two, Vice President Vance expressed disappointment over the outcome, suggesting that the lack of a deal would be more detrimental to Iran than the United States. He noted that Tehran had rejected Washington's primary proposals.

In response, Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesperson Esmaeil Baghaei told local media that while consensus was reached on several points, two or three critical issues remain unresolved. He highlighted that the talks occurred after forty days of imposed conflict, characterized by deep-seated mistrust. "It was unrealistic to expect a comprehensive agreement in a single meeting under these circumstances," Baghaei remarked.

This latest diplomatic effort follows years of tension over Iran's nuclear and missile programs. Recent military escalations, including "Operation Epic Fury" and "Operation Roaring Lion," had led to a temporary ceasefire on April 7 to facilitate these talks, which have now ended without a breakthrough.
