A video showing US President Donald Trump appearing to sway while standing during an official Memorial Day event has triggered renewed debate and discussion across social media platforms.
In the footage, President Trump can be seen slightly moving and seemingly trying to maintain his balance while standing during the ceremony. After the clip spread rapidly online, critics began questioning his physical condition and overall fitness.
Supporters of the president, however, dismissed the criticism as politically motivated, arguing that the movements were completely normal.
The Memorial Day event was organized to honor American military personnel who lost their lives in combat. Alongside President Trump, senior military officials and war veterans were also present at the ceremony.
A video recorded during the event shows Trump making slight body movements and gently swaying while standing upright as American flags waved in the background. Some critics claimed he appeared physically “unsteady” or “disoriented.”
Trump supporters rejected those claims, saying the event took place outdoors in hot weather and that minor body movements after standing for a long time should not be interpreted as a health issue. They accused critics of exaggerating the incident for political purposes.
The clip has already been viewed millions of times online and is adding fresh political tension ahead of the upcoming US presidential election.
Debates over the age, physical fitness, and public appearances of top American political leaders are not new. In recent years, videos focusing on the walking style, speeches, or body language of senior leaders from both major political parties have frequently gone viral on social media and have often been used as political ammunition against opponents.
As of now, neither President Trump nor the White House has issued an official statement regarding the controversy surrounding the video.
