The White House late Friday released a three-page medical report from President Donald Trump’s physician, detailing the results of a recent physical examination conducted at Walter Reed National Military Medical Center.

Like previous reports issued by Trump’s doctors, the latest assessment presents an overwhelmingly positive picture of the president’s health. The report, authored by White House physician Dr. Sean P. Barbabella, describes the 79-year-old president as being in “excellent health,” with strong cardiovascular, pulmonary, neurological, and overall physical functioning.

According to the report, Trump — the oldest person ever sworn in as a U.S. president — underwent a series of physical and cognitive evaluations. Following increased cardiovascular monitoring last year and a diagnosis of chronic venous insufficiency, a condition in which veins struggle to return blood efficiently to the heart, he also received an echocardiogram.

Trump has a history of high cholesterol and currently takes the medications Crestor and Zetia to lower his LDL, or “bad,” cholesterol levels. He also takes a high-dose aspirin regimen daily to reduce the risk of heart attack and stroke, despite medical guidelines generally recommending lower-dose aspirin therapy.

As part of his neurological assessment at Walter Reed, Trump completed the Montreal Cognitive Assessment (MoCA), a 10-minute screening test used to detect signs of dementia, Alzheimer’s disease, and other cognitive impairments. As in previous years, he achieved a perfect score of 30 out of 30.

The report notes that Trump has gained 14 pounds since his last physical examination in April 2025. He now weighs 238 pounds, placing him near the threshold for clinical obesity.

Trump has frequently joked publicly about friends and associates who use weight-loss medications. He has said that he has never taken such drugs himself, though he recently remarked, “Maybe I should.”

Dr. Barbabella stated that Trump has received preventive health counseling, including dietary guidance, recommendations to increase physical activity, lose weight, and consider a lower-dose aspirin regimen.

The president will turn 80 on June 14, and questions about his health continue to attract public attention. Critics and observers have pointed to signs of fatigue and inconsistencies in explanations provided by his medical team regarding certain health issues.

For example, visible bruising has frequently appeared on Trump’s hands. When bruises were first noticed on his right hand, White House officials attributed them to frequent handshaking. Trump later began covering the marks with makeup. After bruising appeared on his left hand, he said it resulted from bumping his hand on a table and noted that he was taking aspirin.

Dr. Barbabella incorporated both explanations into the report, concluding that the bruising is a “common and harmless side effect” of aspirin therapy.

Trump has also experienced recurring swelling in his legs, which his physicians and aides have linked to chronic venous insufficiency. Friday’s report noted “mild swelling of the lower extremities,” adding that the condition has improved compared with last year.

However, Trump’s previous health report made no mention of leg swelling, instead stating that his limbs and muscles were functioning normally, with healthy circulation and no edema.

Earlier this year, the president also developed a rash on his neck. Dr. Barbabella previously described it as a common condition being treated with a medicated cream but did not disclose the specific diagnosis or medication involved. The latest report’s dermatology section does not mention the rash.

For more than a decade, Trump, his physicians, and aides have often provided brief, vague, or highly favorable descriptions of his physical condition.

In 2015, Trump’s longtime personal physician, Dr. Harold Bornstein, famously declared that Trump would be “the healthiest individual ever elected to the presidency.” In 2018, White House physician Dr. Ronny L. Jackson suggested that Trump could live to be 200 years old if he improved his diet.

Trump himself has frequently declined to provide detailed explanations regarding his medical history or reasons for seeking medical care.

Ahead of the 2024 election, after returning to the campaign trail, Trump’s physician released a one-page health statement that omitted basic information such as his weight, blood pressure, cholesterol levels, and prescription medications.

Ultimately, Trump declined to release much of his underlying medical data before the election, continuing a long-standing pattern of limited disclosure regarding his personal health records.
