U.S. President Donald Trump held a two-hour meeting in the White House Situation Room to discuss a potential agreement with Iran, but no final decision was reached, according to multiple international media reports.

A White House official told Al Arabiya on Friday that Trump would only approve an agreement that safeguards U.S. interests and meets the administration’s stated “red lines” and key conditions.

“The Situation Room meeting on Iran has concluded,” the official said, noting that the discussions lasted approximately two hours. The official also reiterated the administration’s position that Iran must not be allowed to acquire a nuclear weapon under any circumstances.

Earlier, Trump had announced that he would convene a Situation Room meeting to make what he described as a “final decision” regarding a possible deal with Tehran. However, following the meeting, administration officials confirmed that no formal approval had been granted and that negotiations remain ongoing.

According to the White House, discussions focused on the terms of a potential agreement, regional security concerns, and measures aimed at preventing Iran from developing nuclear weapons capabilities.

Meanwhile, Iranian officials stated that no final understanding has been reached and indicated that they remain opposed to several conditions proposed by Washington.

The comments suggest that significant differences remain between the two sides despite continued diplomatic engagement.

Analysts say the outcome of the negotiations could have far-reaching implications for regional stability, U.S.-Iran relations, and broader security dynamics in the Middle East. For now, however, both Washington and Tehran appear to be continuing discussions without a breakthrough agreement.
