President Donald Trump and his political allies have hailed the newly secured peace accord with Iran as a monumental strategic triumph. Republicans are widely praising the President for his leadership, with Vice President JD Vance declaring that the initiative marks the dawn of a new era in the Middle East.

Secretary of State Marco Rubio lauded the President’s extraordinary courage and dedication to the nation. Republican lawmakers emphasize that this agreement will impose significantly stricter limitations on Tehran’s nuclear ambitions compared to the previous accords of 2015 and 2018.

Notably, Iran's consent to the agreement came just hours before President Trump’s 80th birthday and the nation’s upcoming 250th anniversary celebrations. While the complete draft remains confidential ahead of Friday's formal signing in Geneva, Switzerland, Trump revealed that Israel posed the greatest challenge to the negotiations. Criticizing Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu as a "complicated" leader whose actions nearly derailed the talks, Trump asserted that Israel would stand no chance of survival if Iran successfully acquired nuclear weapons.

Conversely, Democratic leaders have voiced deep skepticism regarding the transparency and terms of the memorandum. Opponents question whether critical details concerning Iran's nuclear restrictions will ever be made public. Democratic Representative Seth Moulton fiercely condemned the agreement, characterizing it as Trump’s "surrender document" to Iran. Meanwhile, Representative Gregory Meeks argued that the entire four-month conflict was a misguided endeavor that served personal political strategies rather than protecting national interests.

Discrepancies have also emerged regarding the timeline for lifting sanctions and releasing frozen Iranian assets. While Tehran expects immediate relief, administrative officials in Washington have clarified that these measures will not be instantaneous. Instead, the lifting of economic sanctions remains strictly conditional, pending Iran’s verified compliance with specific commitments outlined in the historic framework.
