White House Calls Passport with Trump's Photo as 'Patriot Passport'

The Trump administration has reportedly unveiled a limited-edition U.S. passport, dubbed the "Patriot Passport," to commemorate the 250th anniversary of American independence.

According to the report, the special-edition passport features a portrait of President Donald Trump, an image of the U.S. Declaration of Independence, and Trump's signature. The passport is scheduled to become available to U.S. citizens for a limited time beginning July 6, while supplies last.

The reported design has already generated widespread discussion because it includes the sitting president's image on one of the passport pages.

On Friday, Trump shared what he described as the new passport design on social media. The images show the president standing behind the Resolute Desk with a raised fist, backed by the Declaration of Independence, with his signature appearing below.

According to the report, the U.S. Department of State said the special-edition passport would be available for a limited period beginning July 6.

In a post on Truth Social, Trump wrote, "America's new passport — where it says, 'Welcome, but behave!'" However, the slogan was not visible in the images he shared.

The White House also reportedly posted images of the passport on its official X account, referring to it as the "Patriot Passport."

The report states that the passport will initially be available only to U.S. citizens and cannot be obtained through online or mail-in applications. Instead, applicants would be required to appear in person by appointment at the Washington Passport Agency.

The standard U.S. passport currently features illustrations depicting significant moments and symbols in American history, including the Moon landing and the Statue of Liberty. It remains unclear whether applicants for the reported commemorative edition would also have the option of choosing the standard passport design.
