President Donald Trump stated that ongoing discussions with Iran are progressing "very well," while firmly reiterating his stance that Tehran will under no circumstances be permitted to maintain nuclear weapons.
As reported by Al Jazeera, the President shared these updates during a press briefing on Wednesday, July 1, at Joint Base Andrews near Washington, D.C.
Characterizing the recent high-level meetings with Tehran as highly productive, Trump noted that Iran has already come a long way in this process. However, hinting at recent geopolitical maneuvers and economic or military pressures, he reminded reporters that a very heavy blow was dealt to them just last week. Amid rising concerns about the potential for full-scale conflict, Trump made it clear that the core objective remains simple: complete denuclearization, emphasizing that Iran will never be allowed to hold operational nuclear weaponry.
