NEWS DESKIn an effort to strengthen humanitarian support for victims of the Gaza crisis, Kazi Reaz Rahman, the Founder and Executive Director of Bangladesh-based Mastul Foundation, met with Palestinian Ambassador to Egypt, Diab Al-Louh, in Cairo. The meeting aimed to coordinate efforts in addressing the growing needs of Palestinian refugees currently taking shelter in Egypt.
A team from Mastul Foundation is currently stationed in Cairo to oversee the direct distribution of aid, including food, water, medical supplies, and child nutrition for war-affected families.
During the meeting, Ambassador Al-Louh praised Bangladesh’s unwavering support for the Palestinian people. “Despite being a small country, Bangladesh has stood beside Palestine in a truly commendable manner,” said the Ambassador. He added that approximately 150,000 Gazan refugee families have taken shelter in Egypt and are facing severe shortages of basic necessities such as food and healthcare. The Palestinian Embassy is currently working to register these families to better coordinate aid distribution.
In addition, Ambassador Al-Louh highlighted the financial needs of around 3,500 Palestinian students currently studying in Egypt, as well as the importance of continuing education for children living in refugee camps through online platforms.
Speaking at the event, Kazi Reaz Rahman said, “Gaza is facing an acute crisis of food, clean water, and healthcare. Since 2024, we have been supplying emergency relief, including food, water, medical supplies, and infant nutrition to the people of Gaza. Currently, my team and I are in Egypt directly supporting injured refugees, widows, and orphaned children through medical and financial assistance. The Palestinian Ambassador has encouraged us with his words of gratitude. We are working for the satisfaction of Allah and will continue to stand by the people of Gaza for as long as needed.”
At the conclusion of the meeting, the Palestinian Embassy assured continued cooperation with Mastul Foundation for all future humanitarian efforts. Mastul Foundation also reiterated its long-term commitment, stating that their Gaza relief mission is not temporary but part of a sustainable initiative. The organization plans to launch new projects to alleviate the suffering of Gazans and further strengthen Bangladesh’s humanitarian image on the global stage.
The meeting was attended by Ambassador Diab Al-Louh, Palestinian Counselor Naji Al-Naji, Kazi Reaz Rahman, Mastul International volunteer Muhammad Zayed Torofdar, and Cairo-based journalist and Al-Azhar graduate Isa Ahmad Ishaq.
