BNP Forms Government for Fifth Term; 25 Ministers Sworn In

A new cabinet has been formed under the leadership of BNP Chairman Tarique Rahman, marking the party’s fifth time in government. A total of 25 ministers were sworn in on Tuesday afternoon at the South Plaza of the National Parliament Building.

President Mohammad Shahabuddin administered the oath to the members of the new cabinet. Prior to the cabinet swearing-in, the President administered the oath of office to Tarique Rahman as Prime Minister.

  2. Amir Khasru Mahmud Chowdhury: Ministry of Finance and Ministry of Planning

  3. Salahuddin Ahmed: Ministry of Home Affairs

  4. Iqbal Hasan Mahmud: Ministry of Power, Energy and Mineral Resources

  5. Hafiz Uddin Ahmed: Ministry of Liberation War Affairs

  6. Abu Zafar Md. Zahid Hossain: Ministry of Women and Children Affairs and Ministry of Social Welfare

  7. Dr. Khalilur Rahman (Technocrat): Ministry of Foreign Affairs

  8. Abdul Awal Mintoo: Ministry of Environment, Forest and Climate Change

With the swearing-in ceremony completed, the new cabinet formally assumed office under Prime Minister Tarique Rahman.
