National Moon Sighting Committee to Meet Thursday to Determine Eid-ul-Fitr Date

According to a press release issued by the Islamic Foundation on Wednesday, the meeting will take place at 6:00 PM local time in the conference room of the Bangladesh Islamic Foundation, located at the Baitul Mukarram National Mosque.

The statement also noted that the meeting will be chaired by State Minister for Religious Affairs, Kazi Shah Mofazzal Hossain Kaikobad.

The Islamic Foundation has requested that if the Shawwal moon is sighted anywhere in the country, the information should be promptly reported to the respective Deputy Commissioner or Upazila Nirbahi Officer (UNO).
