Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami Ameer Shafiqur Rahman has said engineers must develop themselves as skilled and honest professionals.
“Engineers are among the most talented people. But a person must not only have knowledge and skills he must also be honest. Only then will the country and the nation benefit from him,” he said.
The Jamaat ameer came up with the statement while delivering his speech as Chief Guest at a discussion and Iftar Mahfil titled "The Significance of Ramadan" organised by The Forum of Engineers and Architects, Bangladesh (FEAB) at the Engineers Institution auditorium in the capital on Sunday.
“As a result of moving away from the Islamic way of life and following partial provisions of Islam as per wish, society is not being spared from chaos and lawlessness. There is no room for partial adherence to Islam. We must build our lives completely in the light of Islam,” he added.
In his speech as a special guest, Central Executive Council member and Dhaka North City Unit Ameer Mohammad Selim Uddin said, “The Quran was revealed in the month of Ramadan; if we can put the teachings of the Quran into practice, it will be possible to eliminate corruption and murder from the society.”
In his speech as the chair of the Iftar programme, Golam Mostafa said that the Forum of Engineers and Architects is working tirelessly to serve the nation by developing Bangladeshi engineers as both skilled and honest.
