US Ambassador Brent Christensen Savors Traditional Barishal Sweets

United States Ambassador to Bangladesh Brent Christensen has sampled some of Barishal's renowned traditional sweets, celebrating the country's rich culinary heritage.

The U.S. Embassy in Dhaka shared the update in a Facebook post on Monday, featuring the ambassador enjoying popular delicacies from the historic Sokal Shondha Mistanna Bhandar.

In the post, Ambassador Christensen said, "What a delightful treat! Rasgulla, Malai Chop, and Chhanar Jilapi from the traditional Sokal Shondha Mistanna Bhandar."

The embassy also invited Bangladeshis to join the conversation by asking which sweet they prefer most—Rasgulla, Malai Chop, or Chhanar Jilapi.

The lighthearted post quickly drew attention on social media, highlighting the ambassador's appreciation for Bangladesh's traditional cuisine and local flavors.
