India's RAW Chief Parag Jain Arrives in Dhaka on Official Visit

India's external intelligence chief, Parag Jain, has arrived in Dhaka on an official visit as Bangladesh and India seek to normalize bilateral relations.

According to a government source quoted by local media, Jain is leading a four-member high-level delegation at the invitation of the relevant Bangladeshi authorities. However, neither the Bangladeshi nor the Indian government has officially disclosed details of the visit.

Parag Jain serves as Secretary of India's external intelligence agency, the Research and Analysis Wing (RAW). He also holds the position of Special Secretary in the Special Protection Group (SPG), India's elite security force responsible for protecting the country's prime minister and other designated dignitaries.

Jain is accompanied by Ashwin Mukund Kotnis, Rahul Negi, and Shaibal Roy Chowdhury. The delegation arrived at Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport in Dhaka on Sunday afternoon (Bangladesh time) aboard an Air India flight.

The government source said the delegation will stay at a hotel in the capital during the visit. Prior to arriving in Bangladesh, Jain had visited China.

The purpose and agenda of the visit have not been officially disclosed by either side.
