Remains of Seven More Bangladeshi Workers Killed in Riyadh Factory Fire Arrive Home The remains of the seven remaining Bangladeshi workers who died in a devastating fire at a sofa manufacturing factory in Riyadh, the capital of Saudi Arabia, have arrived in Bangladesh. Following the completion of necessary formalities, the bodies were handed over to their respective families at the airport.

The remains arrived at Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport in Dhaka at 8:21 a.m. Bangladesh time on Saturday aboard Biman Bangladesh Airlines flight BG-336.

On August 9, a massive fire broke out at the sofa manufacturing factory in Riyadh, killing 16 Bangladeshi workers. In the first phase of repatriation, the remains of nine victims were brought back to Bangladesh on August 27.

The identities of the remaining seven workers could not initially be established because their bodies had been severely burned in the fire. Their identities were later confirmed through DNA testing.

Of the seven workers identified through DNA tests, five were from Naogaon district and two were from Natore. After a prolonged wait, family members broke down in tears and grief as they received the remains of their loved ones.

Muhammad Rezae Rabbi, Counsellor (Labour) at the Ministry of Expatriates' Welfare and Overseas Employment, said that direct flights from Riyadh had been suspended since October 10. Consequently, the remains were transported by road to King Abdulaziz International Airport in Jeddah and flown from there to Dhaka.

The deceased workers from Naogaon were identified as Shahin, from Par Naogaon village in Naogaon Sadar upazila; Hasibul Hasan, from Dubai village in Atrai upazila; Minhaj Pramanik, from Madhyaboalia village; Masidul Sardar, from Madhabpur village; and Sagor Ali, from Sahanagar village.

The two victims from Natore were Mohammad Shamim, from Dighirpara village, and Sharif Hossain, from Khajura village, both in Lalpur upazila.

With the arrival of these seven bodies, the remains of all 16 Bangladeshi workers killed in the tragic Riyadh factory fire have now been repatriated to Bangladesh.
