The five-day exercise began on Sunday and will continue until November 5 under the sponsorship of the US Pacific Air Forces.

At the opening ceremony, Bangladesh Air Force Air Vice Marshal Haider Abdullah and Acting Deputy Chief of Mission at the US Embassy in Dhaka, Trishita Mowla, welcomed the participants.

Aircrew, aircraft maintenance specialists, and personnel involved in logistics and transportation management from both countries will take part in the exercise.

The training will cover the operation and maintenance of C-130J transport aircraft, cargo transportation and management, aviation safety, emergency response, airbase security and medical support.

The Cope South exercise is expected to strengthen the capabilities of the two air forces in addressing regional security challenges, natural disasters and humanitarian emergencies.

The hands-on training will also enhance their ability to deliver emergency relief supplies and support humanitarian assistance operations during times of crisis.
