Saudi Aramco has warned the world about potential disruptions to global oil supplies as tensions surrounding the Iran war continue to intensify.
The company’s Chief Executive Officer cautioned that prolonged instability in the Middle East could have serious consequences for the global oil market. He said the longer the conflict continues, the more damaging its effects will be on global energy supplies and oil prices.
The conflict began escalating on February 28, when the United States and Israel jointly launched attacks on Iran. Tehran quickly retaliated, targeting Israeli positions as well as U.S.-related facilities across the Middle East. Iranian forces have reportedly carried out major strikes on sites linked to American interests in several countries, including Israel and other parts of the region.
The situation has turned the Middle East into a highly volatile conflict zone. Reports indicate that many people have been killed in the fighting. Iran’s Supreme Leader, Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, was reportedly killed in a U.S. strike, further intensifying tensions. Both sides continue to signal that they intend to carry on with the war.
Saudi authorities also reported recent security incidents within the kingdom. According to officials, a drone was intercepted and destroyed by air defense systems east of the Al-Kharj governorate.
Saudi Civil Defense said another drone crashed into a residential area in the Al-Zulfi governorate, causing damage to property but no immediate reports of casualties.
Energy analysts warn that continued attacks and military escalation across the region could threaten key oil infrastructure and shipping routes, raising fears of a broader global energy crisis.
