An Iranian member of parliament has claimed that Iran’s new Supreme Leader, Mojtaba Khamenei, has survived two assassination attempts.
According to Iran’s state news agency IRNA, the claim was made by Mohammad Reza Rezaei Kouchi, a member of parliament from Jahrom.
Rezaei Kouchi said that Mojtaba Khamenei was present with his father, Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, when an attack took place at the latter’s residence. However, he survived the alleged assassination attempt.
He further claimed that another attack was carried out at the hospital where the new Supreme Leader was staying. According to him, Israel and the United States were behind the attempts but failed to achieve their objective.
The Iranian lawmaker, however, did not disclose the name of the hospital or provide any indication of its location.
