On the 38th day of coordinated U.S.-Israeli strikes, diplomatic efforts to halt the escalating conflict surrounding Iran have intensified. Pakistan’s Army Chief, Field Marshal Asim Munir, reportedly held overnight talks with U.S. officials, according to multiple international media reports.

4Sources indicate that discussions are ongoing on a draft proposal aimed at ending violence in Iran. Earlier, President Donald Trump had warned Tehran of severe consequences if no agreement was reached.

Field Marshal Munir reportedly met with U.S. Vice President JD Vance and Middle East Special Envoy Steve Witkoff, as well as Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi, to explore potential compromise solutions.

The proposed peace plan is structured in two phases: the first involves an immediate ceasefire, followed by a comprehensive agreement to permanently end the conflict. However, Iran has reportedly objected to temporarily reopening the Strait of Hormuz as a condition for the ceasefire. A senior Iranian official told Reuters that setting a new fixed timeline is also unacceptable to Tehran.

Meanwhile, in a brief post on Truth Social, President Trump hinted at a new timeline, which analysts interpret as giving Iran until Wednesday morning (Bangladesh time) to accept the deal.

Despite U.S. pressure, multiple sources report that Iran has intensified its attacks. Reports of strikes continued across various parts of the Middle East on Monday.

Analysts warn that failure to resolve the conflict swiftly could have far-reaching consequences for the global economy and energy supply chains.
