Four Bangladeshi contestants have achieved notable success at the 46th King Abdulaziz International Quran Competition held in Saudi Arabia.
Mohammad Zakaria secured first place in the fourth category after demonstrating excellence in Quran memorization, accuracy and recitation with proper melody. He received a prize of SAR 150,000. Libya’s Hammam Mustafa Al-Obaid Juraikan finished second, while Kyrgyzstan’s Mirbekov Musa took third place.
In the same category, Rabita Binte Ramadan of Bangladesh secured third place among female contestants, receiving SAR 130,000.
Bangladesh also achieved success in the third category for complete Quran memorization and recitation. Sheikh Mohammad Mahmud Al-Hasan finished third among male contestants and received SAR 180,000. Libya’s Naji Atiyah Naji bin Sulaiman won first place, while Tunisia’s Mohammad Al-Hadi Al-Gharbi came second.
Among female contestants in the third category, Masfira Binte Mahmud of Bangladesh won third place, earning SAR 180,000. Algeria’s Safa Iman bin Yahya took first place with a prize of SAR 200,000, while Ghana’s Zainab Abdur Rahman finished second with SAR 190,000.
According to Saudi media outlet Ajel, 334 contestants from 133 countries participated in this year’s competition, which was organized by Saudi Arabia. The total prize money awarded to the winners exceeded SAR 10 million.
The achievements of the four Bangladeshi contestants have brought significant recognition to Bangladesh at one of the world’s major international Quran competitions.
