Iran Warns Any Israeli Strike in Lebanon Violates Peace Accord with United States

Tehran has issued a stern warning that any fresh Israeli military aggression or continued occupation in Lebanon will be treated as a direct violation of the newly brokered memorandum of understanding (MoU) signed with the United States.

Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi clarified that from Tehran's geopolitical perspective, the historic accord functionally binds Iran and Hezbollah on one side, and the United States and Israel on the other.

In an interview with the BBC, Araghchi emphasized that a cessation of hostilities in Lebanon is an inseparable component of the broader regional peace framework, which inherently demands the total end of Israeli occupation. He underscored that moving forward, any unilateral military incursions by Israeli forces on Lebanese soil would be viewed as a breach of the diplomatic commitments guaranteed under the Washington-Tehran understanding.

The diplomatic warning coincides with a volatile resurgence of cross-border skirmishes in southern Lebanon. The Israeli military justified its recent strikes by claiming it targeted "terrorists" advancing toward its troops. In retaliation, Hezbollah confirmed launching coordinated missile and drone strikes against Israeli military positions, signaling that the ground situation remains highly fragile.

Despite the finalization of the comprehensive peace roadmap between Washington and Tehran, Tel Aviv has maintained a defiant posture. Senior Israeli officials have publicly condemned the international agreement, insisting that their forces will maintain a strategic presence within Lebanon's designated "security zone." This divergence in compliance threatens to undermine the newly established diplomatic framework aimed at stabilizing the Middle East.
