MUNA Brooklyn West Chapter Organizes Ashura Mahfil and Eid Reunion

Discussion on the Significance of Ashura and Eid Reunion Mahfil were organized by the Muslim Ummah of North America (MUNA) Brooklyn West Chapter on Wednesday, June 18 at the (first MUNA Center) Brooklyn Islamic Center (BIC). About four hundred worshippers participated in the Mahfil, and the officials of the Brooklyn West Chapter were present.

Brooklyn Islamic Center President Saiful Alam Azam presided over the discussion and the reunion, which was modarated by Brooklyn West Chapter Secretary Helal Uddin. At the beginning of the program, Junaid Hossain recited from the Holy Quran with the meaning.

Special Discussants of the Event

The Chief Guest of the Eid Reunion and Discussion on the Significance of Ashura was Prominent Islamic Scholar and Media Personality from Bangladesh Mawlana Shaikh Fakhruddin Ahmed. In his discussion, the Chief Guest elaborated on how Ashura is an example in defining the character of a true Muslim.

Nasheed performance by Artists

The Special Guest of the event was MUNA New York South Zone President Mawlana Emdad Ullah. The discussions was delivered by MUNA Social Services Director Safayat Hossain Safa, New York South Zone Secretary AKM Saiful Alam and Brooklyn West Chapter President Mujibur Rahman Ripon.

Spontaneous attendance

The attractive performance by the Nasheed Artists of Brooklyn West Chapter made the mahfil quite enjoyable. Special prayers and munazat were held at the end of the mahfil. Finally, all those present were entertained with Qurbani meat, bread, special salad, and payesh cooked at the homes of the Local responsible persons.
