The Bangladesh Consulate in Los Angeles organized a discussion session to mark the occasion of Victory Day, honoring the country’s hard-won independence and the spirit of the Liberation War. The event highlighted the importance of preserving Bangladesh’s history and fostering unity within the expatriate community.
The session featured speeches by prominent community leaders. Speaking at the event, Mohammad Abdul Mannan, President of the Muslim Ummah of North America - MUNA West Zone, emphasized the significance of Victory Day, stating, “It is our collective responsibility to pass on the ideals of the Liberation War to the new generation.”
Ashraf Hossain Akbar, Vice President of MUNA West Zone, also addressed the attendees, highlighting the role of the diaspora in serving the country and preserving national pride. He remarked, “Even while living abroad, celebrating national days properly reflects the unity and patriotism of the Bangladeshi community.”
The event was attended by various leaders of the Bangladeshi diaspora, who shared their perspectives on the importance of Victory Day and the need to keep national consciousness alive among overseas Bangladeshis.
The program concluded with special prayers and supplications for the souls of the martyrs who sacrificed their lives in the Liberation War.
