Sheikh Faisal Noman, the longtime muezzin of Masjid al-Nabawi, has passed away.
Having served the sacred mosque for nearly 25 years, his death has cast a shadow of grief over the Muslim world (Inna lillahi wa inna ilayhi raji'un).
His funeral prayer was held at Masjid al-Nabawi following the Fajr prayer on Tuesday, after which he was laid to rest at the historic Jannat al-Baqi cemetery.
Sheikh Faisal Noman was appointed muezzin of Masjid al-Nabawi in 2001 (1422 Hijri). He hailed from a respected family entrusted with the honoured duty of calling the Adhan at the holy mosque for generations.
His grandfather had served as a muezzin at Masjid al-Nabawi, and his father was appointed at the young age of 14, faithfully fulfilling the role for several decades until well into his nineties.
Known for his humility and dedication, Sheikh Faisal Noman carried out his duties with devotion for almost 25 years.
His passing has elicited profound sorrow and condolences from scholars, worshippers, and devout Muslims across the globe.
