Authorities overseeing Islam’s two holiest mosques have announced that more than 33.8 million iftar meals were distributed during the holy month of Ramadan.
The initiative took place at the Masjid al-Haram in Mecca and the Al-Masjid an-Nabawi in Medina.
According to a report by Saudi Gazette, designated areas were arranged for the distribution of iftar meals. Special attention was given to the busy period just before Maghrib prayers to ensure that food reached worshippers in a safe and orderly manner.
Strict health and safety measures were implemented throughout the process to maintain hygiene standards.
As part of the operation, crowd management systems and coordinated service efforts were introduced, helping to improve efficiency and overall service quality.
The large-scale initiative reflects Saudi Arabia’s continued commitment to serving worshippers and ensuring a smooth, spiritually enriching experience for millions visiting the two holy mosques.
