On Sunday, Makkah Deputy Emir and Vice Chairman of the Hajj and Umrah Committee, Prince Saud bin Mishal, conducted an extensive inspection of the Grand Mosque (Masjid al-Haram), the Mataf area, and the Al-Nawariyah Pilgrim Reception and Guidance Center.
According to a report by the Saudi Gazette, the visit was aimed at reviewing operational readiness and improving the quality of services provided to pilgrims.
During the inspection, Prince Saud received detailed briefings from officials regarding crowd management systems, movement facilitation plans, and upgraded service arrangements designed to ensure pilgrims can perform their religious rituals safely and comfortably.
Authorities emphasized that special attention is being given to maintaining smooth movement inside the Grand Mosque and surrounding areas during peak pilgrimage days.
Prince Saud also reviewed progress on the Third Saudi Expansion Project of the Grand Mosque, one of the kingdom’s largest infrastructure initiatives currently overseen by the Saudi Ministry of Finance and the Two Holy Mosques Authority.
Officials briefed him on different stages of the expansion project, which aims to create a more modern, accessible, and comfortable environment for worshippers and Umrah performers.
Later, the deputy emir visited the Al-Nawariyah Pilgrim Reception Center, accompanied by Deputy Minister for Hajj and Umrah Dr. Abdul Fattah Mashat, Makkah Mayor Musaed Al-Dawood, and other senior officials.
At the reception center, Prince Saud toured the “Pre-Arrival Room,” a technologically advanced monitoring facility where digital systems track pilgrims’ accommodation arrangements, bus movements, and traffic conditions in real time through large display screens.
The center monitors whether preparations for incoming pilgrims have been completed before their arrival and ensures transportation operations are functioning efficiently.
Prince Saud also expressed satisfaction with the management of the reception hall and the bus transfer procedures designed to transport pilgrims safely to their destinations.
Saudi authorities say their primary goal is to ensure that the “Guests of Allah” can complete their Hajj journey peacefully, safely, and comfortably — from their arrival in Makkah until their departure.
